What does a post about Madison County Catholic Charities have to do with being a good owner of multifamily properties? You’re about to find out!
But before we go there…
Follow-up to Metro East Real Estate Investors Association
A quick follow-up to my last post on the Metro East Real Estate Investors Association. The March meeting was once again provided great content and education. The Home Depot Pro Desk showed some of the new tools available to owners and contractors.
They also talked about some of the benefits of being a Pro, like getting up to 20% off of paints, being able to track all of your expenses through their portal, and special offers.
The business meeting was followed by a discussion on Land Trusts, a topic everyone should look into. Land trusts can provide you with some privacy. They keep your name off of the official paperwork. And they can make it more difficult for people to determine how much stuff you own. If you are not a member of MEREIA, come to our next meeting on April 14th. It’s over in Collinsville at the American Legion Hall about 6:30 PM.
Madison County Catholic Charities
Madison County Catholic Charities is a great option for our tenants to use when they need a helping hand. Let’s face it, as a landlord and owner of rental properties we are business owners. We have to protect our business. But we’re also caring individuals who are concerned for the well-being of our customers.
Crisis Assistance – Did you know that Madison County Catholic Charities provides crisis assistance? This is where they help out people in real need, giving them guidance and a helping hand ti get back on their feet.
Food Bank – The Alton branch for Catholic Charities has a food bank. Some of our tenants may find it difficult to choose between food on the table or a roof over their head. Maybe they don’t have to make that choice as often with a little help.
MedAssist is particularly useful for some of our tenants. The folks at Catholic Charities, through this program, help individuals work within the guidelines of various programs to get the prescription medication they need.
